World of Warcraft lost 800,000 subscribers from April to June. Publisher Activision Blizzard announced that as of June 30, the total subscribers were down to 6.8 million from 7.8 million as of February 2014.The drop in subscribers is likely due to the end of life of the current expansion, and the decrease is in line with the last expansion's decrease during its transition phase. Regardless of the fall in subscriber numbers, Blizzard says that revenues for World of Warcraft are up thanks to over 1.5 million pre orders of the upcoming Warlords of Draenor expansion. The release date to that expansion is said to be announced soon. Pre ordering the expansion gets you an early boost to level 90.
