New 3DS Sells 230,000 In Opening Weekend

Nintendo’s New 3DS and 3DS XL sold more than 230,000 units within just two days of going on sale in Japan. According to reports the 3DS XL was the more popular 3DS as it sold 172,332 hits compared to the 61,151 units sold by the New 3DS. The New 3DS XL was bundled with Monster Hunter 4G which likely played a role in that model having larger numbers. Monster Hunter 4G managed to move 1.6 million copies in total, which is an incredibly impressive number in such a small space of time. As for when the rest of the world will see the new models, Australia and New Zealand are next with a November release. While both North America and Europe have just a 2015 release window at this moment.
