Android users will soon have the new emojis that iOS users have in iOS 9.1. Emoji icons are now part of the Unicode Standard, once in a while it gets updated to include new ones. Android currently supports Unicode 6.0, but with iOS 9.1, Apple added support for Unicode 8.0. Android SVP Hiroshi Lockheimer promises that Google is “on it” as he took to Twitter to ensure Android users that it is listening. Lockheimer didn’t say when that would happen, but hopefully Android users won’t have to wait too long. What do you think of the new emojis ?
