Activision Blizzard has announced its acquiring of Major League Gaming.The acquisition of MLG is part of Activision Blizzard's plan to create "the ESPN of eSports," according to CEO Bobby Kotick. "MLG has an incredibly strong and seasoned team and a thriving community," Kotick said, and he said together, Activision Blizzard and MLG "will create new ways to celebrate players," as well as gamers' commitment to gaming. Kotick said MLG’s "ability to create premium content," along with its broadcast platform and its live-stream capabilities, as points that will improve Activision Blizzard's "strategic position in competitive gaming." Does this bring Activision Blizzard closer to being the evil overload of gaming ? All jokes aside, with Activision Blizzard having Call of Duty, Hearthstone, Heroes of The Storm and more eSports games it will be interesting to see how this plays out.
