During todays Nintendo Direct, Nintendo has announced that Splatoon will be receiving free updates over coming month. The first update will improve lesser-used abilities to make them more appealing for players. It will also include tweaks to ranked battle matchmaking and new elements for the game's special Splatfest events. This first update will become available on March 8. Nintendo will also be releasing new weapons through 2 separate updates. These updates will deliver new variants on popular weapons. Part 1 of these updates will arrive in April.
