Speaking with the Associated Press, Insomniac president Ted Price says that the game is not connected to the upcoming Marvel Spider-Man: Homecoming film. Instead, the game is set in a different version of the Marvel universe, and not the cinematic continuity. Marvel is working with the studio to creature the game.
