Former Microsoft employee, Seamus Blackley, was part of the team that desiged the original Xbox. He recently uploaded some early designs for the original Xbox controller to his personal Twitter. They’re insetting to say the least. The designs are from November 1999 and they show a controller heavily inspired by Sega's Dreamcast. Blackley said the team at Microsoft quickly discarded these designs. You can check out the designs in the gallery below. As we all know Microsoft shipped the Xbox in 2001 with the infamous large "Duke" controller. What do you think of this Dreamcast inspired controller ?
They were fairly bizarre to see at the time as well. If I recall-- me: "these suck." kevin: "yep." https://t.co/NqJv2UbRvn— Seamus Blackley (@SeamusBlackley) June 28, 2016
