In the recent betas for iOS 10, Apple has added a warning when there's liquid detected in your device's Lightning port. This will hopefully give you time to pull an accessory/cable before there's any real damage. The feature is currently known to only work with newer iPhones like the 6s, 6s Plus and SE. In the recent betas for iOS 10, Apple has added a warning when there's liquid detected in your device's Lightning port.
