Nintendo has announced a 3DS only Nintendo Direct for September 1 at 7AM PT / 10AM ET. Some upcoming 3DS games include Pokemon Sun and Moon, Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Spirit of Justice and Yo-Kai Watch 2: Bony Spirits. All of these games will likely be shown off during the direct.
