During Activision Blizzard’s earnings call, the publisher revealed that the Call of Duty series will be returning to "traditional combat" after the sci-fi theme of Infinite Warfare. The publisher acknowledged the disappointing performance of Infinite Warfare and mentioned that in 2017, the publisher will be "giving players what they want." Sledgehammer Games, the developer behind Advanced Warfare, is developing the series' next, unnamed title.
