GameStop’s new initiative to have a games rental service has been suspended for the time being. The company said in a statement that it has identified some limitations to the service so has halted the service. Speculation has come about suggesting that the company’s outdated computer system isn’t capable of handling the new program. Those who already subscribed to the service will be refunded. Here’s the statement.
“We have elected to temporarily pause the roll out of the new PowerPass subscription service, based on a few program limitations we have identified. We feel this is the right thing to do for now to ensure we are able to provide our guests an exceptional service.”
