It appears that Sony has quietly revealed that the PlayStation TV is being discontinued in Japan. Sony's official Japanese listing for the console says that their shipments have reached completion. PlayStation TV was originally released in Japan in November 2013 and in the US in October 2014 but didn't make much of an impact, with a number of retailers dropping the console's listed price of $99.99 to $39.99 shortly after release. The device is compatible with a number of games in the PlayStation Vita library, but not all of them. I enjoy my PS TV, I use it as a road console, taking it with me if I go on vacation and I want to play a Vita game on the big screen. It’s an awesome console but it’s not for everyone.
