Smash Bros. Creator Explains Why There Will Be No More New DLC Characters For Smash 4

In an interview with Source Gaming, Smash Bros. creator Masahiro Sakurai explained why he stopped creating DLC characters for Smash Bros. on Wii U and 3DS. Considering the excitement surrounding many character releases, it makes you wonder why the Smash 4 team would choose to stop when fans seem to what the game to continue to have support. “If we were to keep adding popular characters to Smash as DLC, we’d eat up IPs in no time flat. Moreover, people’s “shock and awe” would gradually start to fade," said Sakurai. He went on to explain, apparently wanting to call it quits on a high note, and on his own terms. "If at some point in the future we had 100 characters in Smash, adding the 101st character wouldn’t have the same impact as new fighters have had up until now. In that sense, I feel now is the perfect time to close the curtains on development.” What do you think of  what Sakurai said ? Makes sense to me, just wish we we could’ve gotten maybe 1 or 2 more characters.
