A Public Test Realm for Overwatch is now available to test out the upcoming patches that are currently in development. This gives player a chance to try things out before they are live for everyone else. To join the PTR, follow these steps:
- Restart the Battle.net desktop app.
- Go to the Overwatch tab
- Select "PTR: Overwatch from the REGION/ACCOUNT drop-down menu
- Click install
- Enjoy some Competitive play
It should be noted that there is a player cap of 10,000, and if it's full, you'll be placed into a queue. Any progress you make on the PTR won't carry over to the main game. The big feature you can test right now on the PTR is Competitive Play. As long as you're level 25.
