Call of Duty: Roman Wars Was Almost A Thing

According to a report from GamesRadar, there was almost a Call of Duty that took place during the rain of Julius Caesar. Call of Duty: Roman Wars would have taken players through historic battles with Germanic armies in third person along with first person moments as well. The combat system was borrowed from Condemned: Criminal Origins, which featured a more methodical melee system that put emphasis on dodging and parrying. Ultimately, Activision didn’t want to attach the Call of Duty name to something that diverged so drastically. The game never made it past the concept stage. Check out the GamesRadar article for more details.
